We’re excited to share that Chris Stone has been selected for the 2025–26 Emerging Research Leaders Academy (ERLA), a program run by the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute to support mid-career researchers as they grow into collaborative, campus-wide leaders.
Each year, ERLA brings together a select group of researchers from across the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to refine their goals, build strong networks, and develop skills to lead large, interdisciplinary research projects. This year’s cohort was chosen from a highly competitive pool of more than 40 nominees representing 27 units and 10 colleges across campus.
Throughout the upcoming year, Chris will participate in workshops, peer discussions, and mentorship opportunities focused on everything from building inclusive research teams to effective science communication. By the end of the program, each participant will present a five-year action plan designed to expand their research impact.
Congratulations, Chris!
